Meet The Team
Elizabeth Trout
Owner and Sr. Downsizing & Move Management Advisor
Member, National Association of Senior and Specialty Move Managers
Elizabeth Trout is a Fort Worth-based interior designer and
businesswoman who launched RetireEase in 2021, a firm
dedicated to senior downsizing services including space
planning, sorting, packing and unpacking, move management
and resetting and styling a new home.
The idea behind RetireEase came about years ago when
Elizabeth helped her grandmother move from a two-story 2,600 s.f. home in Austin into an assisted living community. Thanks to Elizabeth’s experience, innate
style and gift of organization, she was able to adeptly and
compassionately help her grandmother downsize a lifetime of memories, furniture, books and belongings into a comfortable new home. Elizabeth had discovered her calling.
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Elizabeth spent the first part of her professional life in Dallas working as a commercial interior designer for retail environments. While employed at two different design firms, she led or worked on projects updating or building from the ground up for Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and JCPenney in cities across the country, including Beverly Hills and Honolulu.
She also spent eight years at Starbucks Coffee Company working as an in-house designer.
After a little over ten years living in Dallas, Elizabeth moved back to her hometown in 2009 to start her family. Beyond her work with RetireEase, she is an adjunct professor of Interior Design at TCU, volunteers on her sons PTA boards and has served on the Board of Directors of the Trinity Lutheran Children’s Center. She is a member of Continuity of Care and the Tarrant Area Gerontological Society. She is also a proud member of the National Association of Senior and Specialty Move Managers.
